Portable Electric Fire Smoke Extractor (Model: YYD1.5/5.3-18)
In narrow corridors, the density of smoke doubles with every turn taken. Taizhou Mingxin Fire Technology Co., Ltd. visited over a dozen fire and rescue stations across Jiangsu province; the most frequent complaint we heard from frontline firefighters was: "The equipment is too heavy-by the time we haul it up to the scene, the fire has already burned through everything." Consequently, we resolved to engineer a smoke extractor that could truly keep pace with the firefighters themselves.
Internally, we affectionately refer to this YYD1.5/5.3-18 Portable Electric Fire Smoke Extractor as the "Little Cannon." It boasts an operational weight of just 29.9 kg-nearly 10 kg lighter than other machines on the market offering equivalent airflow capacity. In early 2024, during a residential fire on the third floor of an older housing complex in Taizhou, two firefighters-each carrying a unit-sprinted up to the third floor in a mere 40 seconds. Upon arrival, they were able to immediately power up the units to begin smoke extraction, thereby securing precious time for the search and rescue of an elderly resident trapped inside.
The Mingxin technical team made a bold decision: to equip the smoke extractor with an "automotive-grade brain." We adopted a brushless DC explosion-proof motor. Since this type of motor operates without carbon brushes, it generates no sparks-serving as a vital "lifesaver" in fire environments saturated with combustible gases. Furthermore, the motor boasts an efficiency rating exceeding 90%; operating at the same 48V voltage, it delivers superior power and can reach rotational speeds of up to 2,900 RPM.
The airflow generated by this machine is not merely brute force, but intelligent power. In positive pressure mode, it expels 18,060 m³/h of fresh air-equivalent to completely exchanging the air in a 100-square-meter living room three times every minute. When switched to negative pressure mode, it transforms into a powerful "vacuum," extracting toxic smoke at a rate of 9,002 m³/h. This dual-mode switching capability proves particularly effective when tackling fires in environments with complex terrain.
We paid special attention to the sensory experience of firefighters operating in the dark. The front face of the unit is fitted with a row of LED warning lights. In situations where smoke is so dense that one cannot see their own hand, these flashing warning lights serve as a beacon, illuminating the path for a safe retreat. The unit also features a battery display screen with pulsating red digits, indicating whether you should continue the operation or prepare to withdraw to swap out the battery.
Battery life is a major source of anxiety for many firefighters. Our tests have shown that, under full-power operation, the 35AH/1680WH lithium iron phosphate battery can sustain performance for 48 minutes. Why 48 minutes? Because our research data indicates that for the vast majority of interior ventilation operations involving incipient fires, the critical "golden window" falls between 30 and 40 minutes. This 48-minute design provides firefighters with a built-in safety margin of 8 minutes for withdrawal.
This machine is built to withstand extreme conditions. Its operating temperature range spans from -20°C to 50°C. During testing in Northeast China last winter-in an environment hovering at -25°C-many other machines froze up and failed to start; yet, with a simple flip of the switch, this "little powerhouse" roared to life and spun away without missing a beat. It also boasts an IP55 protection rating, making it impervious to splashing water or rain.
Angle adjustment is refreshingly simple and robust. The fan can be locked at any angle between 0°and 90°. If you need to direct airflow upward, it tilts its head; if you need to direct it downward, it lowers its head. No tools are required for operation-a quick manual adjustment is all it takes.
