Gasoline-Powered Fire Smoke Extractor (Model: YY2.2/4.2-8)

What is the biggest headache in wilderness rescue operations? A lack of electricity. While accompanying a forest firefighting brigade on a training drill, technicians from Taizhou Mingxin Fire Technology Co., Ltd. observed a common frustration: firefighters would trek into the mountains carrying tens of kilograms of heavy gear, only to arrive at the scene and discover-to their dismay-that there were no power outlets available, rendering their equipment useless. Consequently, we committed ourselves to developing a gasoline-powered unit that is truly "location-independent."

We have dubbed this YY2.2/4.2-8 gasoline-powered fire smoke extractor the "Wilderness Warrior." Far from being a derogatory term, this name signifies its ability to go anywhere and tackle any environment without hesitation. It runs on 92-octane gasoline; a single full tank allows it to operate continuously at its rated speed for one hour. In the autumn of 2023, during a forest fire in a mountainous region of Shandong province-where fire trucks were unable to access the terrain-two team members carried this unit on foot for two kilometers. Upon reaching the fire's front line, they simply refueled the machine, started it up, and successfully blasted a smoke-free corridor through the firebreak zone.

When designing this unit, Mingxin's engineers focused on resolving a critical concern: would the machine slide away on its own when positioned on rugged terrain? We conducted a specialized test to assess its operational stability. The unit was placed on a sloping stone surface and operated at full speed, while we used a ruler to measure the distance it drifted. The results were reassuring: the maximum distance of self-displacement was less than 200 millimeters. This distance is barely wider than a human hand, meaning that even on a steep mountainside, the unit can maintain a firm and stable footing.

One of a firefighter's greatest fears is equipment leaking fuel. If gasoline were to leak onto scorching-hot rocks, the result would be-quite literally-a ticking time bomb. Before leaving the factory, every unit must pass a rigorous final hurdle: the "Inclined Operation Test." We tilt the machine to its maximum angle in every direction-forward, backward, left, and right-and run it at full speed while closely inspecting it from ground level. The conclusion, duly recorded in the inspection report, confirms: absolutely no fuel leakage and no mechanical loosening in any component.

Noise is often a testament to raw power. This unit generates a noise level of 98 decibels. In the vast, open wilderness, this sound carries over great distances; if team members become separated, they can simply follow the sound to pinpoint the location of the smoke extractor-and by locating the extractor, they effectively locate their operational command center. We have set the impeller diameter at 420 ± 10 mm. This dimension represents the optimal solution derived from extensive iterative testing: if the impeller were too small, the airflow volume would be insufficient; conversely, if it were too large, the unit would be too heavy to carry. At its current size-combined with a rotational speed of 3,600 rpm-the unit generates an airflow volume of 8,000 m³/h. To put 8,000 m³/h into perspective: that is equivalent to completely filling a standard-sized badminton court with fresh air in just one second.

We have paid meticulous attention to the details of the safety guards. The mesh openings at both the air intake and exhaust ports feature a maximum gap of no more than 8 millimeters. This specific dimension was finalized after hundreds of internal discussions; it is small enough to prevent fingers from entering, yet also effectively blocks debris-such as leaves and pebbles-from flying inside. This design serves a dual purpose: protecting the internal impeller while simultaneously safeguarding the operator.

Thermal insulation measures come as a standard feature. We have applied protective thermal insulation layers to all components that generate significant heat-specifically the exhaust pipe and the muffler. In the high-stress environment of a fire scene, bumps and accidental contact are inevitable. With this protective layer in place, should an operator accidentally brush against a hot surface, the worst they will experience is a momentary startle-rather than a severe burn that strips away their skin.
